Good day,
We are still in awe of the remarkable launch event we had on the 1st of September! The African Music Library project was officially unveiled on Thursday with an online webinar. The Launch was attended by music fans, enthusiasts as well as producers, record label owners and musicians from across Africa.
The event began with an opening address from the President of AML, Emmanuel Ogala who gave a short summary of the African Music Library vision and essence. Then the Project Director, Jideofor Okoro briefly spoke about the necessity of AML in this era.
Also in attendance were the guest speakers, Shishi Wenj, a Culture Journalist and Researcher, Kolapo Oladapo, Brand and Music Marketing Executive and Jotam Matariro, CEO of Composers, Authors and Publishers Association (CAPASSO). We especially love the insights they each shared about the importance of data availability in their respective portfolios.
Many questions from the attendees were answered by the President and Project Director concerning the African Music Library. Towards the end of the webinar, Emmanuel Ogala took us on a tour of the AML platform, pointing out the unique features of the website.
